Unics has an exemplary record of developing and commercializing
technical coatings based on urethane, Teflon, nylon, etc.;
engineering plastic technology such as MC nylon, duracon,
etc.; parts feeder technology; and the design and manufacture
of a wide variety of equipment. Based on this expertise
and following proposals and consultation, we accept orders
for affordably priced processing of highly functional equipment
parts used in the manufacture of automatic machines and
labor-saving devices, centered on parts feeders.
Apart from engineering plastic processing, we also handle
ceramics, super-engineered plastics, etc., and we undertake
equipment design and manufacturing in connection with the
"Omusubi Kororin" automatic omusubi (riceball making) equipment
and the "Safety Pon" used-needle sterilizing and processing
machine.

Every year in Japan's hospitals there are several thousand
accidents involving unintended injections with used syringes,
which results in a never-ending succession of infections.
When such accidents occur, there is a possibility that
patients will become infected with dangerous viruses such
as HIV, etc. And recently, fears of infection with the SARS
virus have also become a consideration.
Safety Pon is a syringe melting sterilizer developed as
a method of helping to prevent hospital infections and as
an aid to waste processing.
Safety Pon turns injection needles and syringes used in
medical facilities into lumps of plastic that take up only
about a fifth of their original volume by melting them at
a high temperature in excess of 200C. Thanks to this process,
used needles, which conventionally have to be treated as
potentially infectious medical waste, can now be handled
as ordinary industrial waste.
Safety Pon is of real help not only in guarding the safety
of doctors, nurses and patients, but also of workers involved
in waste collection and transportation. What's more, because
the volume of the processed waste is reduced by 80%, the
device can be considered an environmentally friendly product
that can help reduce the demand for landfill space.
