Surface light source products
Although not a term heard very often, surface light sources are in common use all around us. For example, they are commonly used in information devices such as liquid crystal televisions, computer monitors and digital and video cameras. All of these devices require a light source to display information on the display area. In anticipation of the growing need in this field, Matsushita Shokai has dedicated itself to producing backlights for liquid crystal displays and for furthering the development of this technology.

Directional Light-emitting Products
Directional light-emitting products are able to direct the direction in which light is emitted. Matsushita Shokai’s ViewLight (see photo at left) is an example of this technology. By guiding the direction in which the light is perceived, it creates a safer driving environment. The ViewLight is also based on green technology.
