The Foreigners Training and Technical Practice System is a system under which the Japanese industrial world accepts young workers from foreign countries for a certain period and aids them in learning a variety of industrial technologies, skills and know-how.
This system is intended to help transfer technologies and skills to technology trainees for the purpose of making a contribution toward training human resources who can help carry forward the economic development of their own countries. As such, it plays an important role as part of Japan’s overall efforts to fostering international cooperation and providing an international contribution.
The purpose of the Foreigners Technical Training System is to enable trainees to learn further practical technologies and skills following the completion of their training by working at accepting companies under an employment contract. This means the system is a form of “international contribution through human resources development”.
This acceptance project is proceeding based on the supervision and guidance of the Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO).
