Reform Mat (Sludge Mat)

This is a method of reusing construction waste soil generated during ordinary civil engineering work as well as mud and sludge from rivers, dams, lakes and marshes for slope protection and bottom mud solidification purposes during the course of bank protection work.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has made it obligatory for a waste recycling plan to be presented for each proposed work project by announcing a Construction Recycling Guideline specifying that the construction waste reuse ratio be raised to 80%. The Reform Mat method is an effective means of using waste soil generated during construction in line with the above guideline, while also promoting cost reduction and improved resource utilization.

The Reform Mat method involves the use of a mold in the form of an upper and lower two-layer bag structure into which is pumped fluidized processed soil consisting of a mixture of construction waste soil, sludge and a non-polluting solidification material supplied by Aught-Set. This results in the formation of a solidified material that combines high density with high strength.

This solidified material can be used for slope protection or bottom mud solidification work in the course of bank protection work on rivers, lakes or marshes, as explained above.
