The Reform Mat for Soil Re-use

The Reform Mat employs a technique for reusing waste soil from general civil engineering projects as well as mud and sludge from rivers, dams and lakes. The material is used in projects such as bank reinforcement and underwater mud solidification.

The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has issued guidelines for construction recycling, calling for an increase in waste reuse to 80 percent. The guidelines also make it mandatory to submit a waste recycling plan, and Aught-Set’s Reform Mat method promotes the effective re-use of soil and resources in accordance with those guidelines.

With the Reform Mat method, the waste soil, sludge or the like is mixed with Aught-Set’s non-polluting solidification material in a two-layer bag-like frame. The resulting fluid dirt is pumped and injected at high pressure and high density, solidifying the target area. Target areas include bank reinforcement, the bottoms of lakes and rivers and other places where bottom solidification is required.
