Cold Forging and Metal Pressing
Can You Make it in This Shape? We Answer Such Questions Using Cold Forging Technology
For the craftsmen of Fukuchi Metal, to bring a customer's idea to life as a real shape by drawing on our decades of experience with cold forging and pressing technology is a major source of satisfaction. For this reason, we welcome requests concerning product making tasks that only we can accomplish.
In contrast with metal processing by cutting, cold forging does not produce swarf and thereby saves materials and eliminates waste. In addition, cold forging results in improved material strength because the process of forging using a mold does not involve cutting or dividing the metallic fibers.Generally it is said that the molds used in cold forging are very expensive, and that development expenses are high, so the technique is not cost effective unless it is used for mass production.
However, because Fukuchi Metal performs process design and mold design and production in house, we have accumulated a vast amount of development data on a plethora of shapes. Also, with regard to preparatory metal molds for sample production, we keep a variety of rough shapes in stock on a regular basis, so we are confident of our ability to respond effectively to the demands of the coming era for small-lot, fast-delivery and low-cost production. |
