Developing Equipment Making Practical Use of LEDs in an Effort to Improve Safety All Over the World

Long active as a pioneer in the development of safety- and security-related equipment that employs LED technology, Kitamura Industry has recently developed a new product that combines LED and human sensor technologies.

This device is designed so that a human sensor detects the presence of customers standing in front of a display unit, causing the display to appear only when necessary by raising and lowering the display section accordingly.

The display can handle messages in the form of alphanumeric characters (including Japanese hiragana and katakana as well as the Roman alphabet and Arabic numerals), logos, cartoon animations, etc., which users can produce freely on a PC for display. The display screen is capable of displaying up to 12 characters in two lines of six characters each in three colors (red/green/orange).

This device is designed so that when the human sensor determines that a customer is standing in front of the display unit, the display section rises up and the message is displayed. Then, after two minutes, the messaged is switched off automatically, and if no other customers arrive within a further two minutes the display section is returned to its housing.
