In the conventional CO2 laser processing, the precise control of processing parameters required for different works is difficult. In an effort to overcome this drawback, LEMI has developed the means to process non-metallic materials in a stable way with high quality. LEMI supplies for this purpose the world’s first CO2 laser in which both of the beam shape and the beam divergent angle can be freely varied.

Unlike the conventional YAG laser, LEMI disc laser emits the beam, which is highly parallel and the beam divergence is suppressed considerably. As its result, this disc laser features an excellent beam focusing, which is indispensable to the fine laser cutting unparalleled by the conventional cutting machines.

This disc laser was originally developed by Forschungsgesellschaft fuer Strahlwerkzeuge mbH (FGSW), which is a venture company from Stuttgart University in Germany. LEMI has been granted the manufacturing license of this laser for various applications.
