一時は、太陽系は12個に増えるなんて話もありましたが、結局は8個に落ち着きました。
確かに科学の勝利かもしれませんが、勝手に太陽系に入れたり除外したりと、意外にあっけないものですね。
もちろん、International Astronomical Union（国際天文学連合）という世界中のこの分野の権威による討議の結果なのですが。
「水、金、地、火、木、土、天、海、冥」と記憶してきた人間には、何とも納得のいかない感じがします。
これがsetiment（感傷）なんでしょうか。
現実的な家内は、「受験生にとっては覚えるのに少ない方がいい」と笑っていました。
まぁ、日本や世界の歴史もどんどん新しい発見があり、教科書は書き換えられていますから、順応せよということなのでしょう。
それにしても、冥王星がPlutoというのは今回初めて知りました。参考までに、他の惑星も書いておきます。
