Are you worried about wanting to expand overseas but wanting to keep patent and trademark application costs low?
A crucial element of strategic business expansion overseas is filing patent applications with foreign patent offices to protect your company's patents and trademarks. The Osaka Industrial Promotion Organization, which operates MOBIO, will subsidize half of the costs required for small and medium-sized enterprises in Osaka Prefecture to file foreign patent applications. Please take advantage of this subsidy to protect your company's technology, products, and brand, and to safely expand your business overseas!
Maximum subsidy amount
3 million yen
- 3 million yen per company (1/2 subsidy)
- Of that, 1.5 million yen is from patents.
- Utility model, design, and trademark registration: 600,000 yen
- Trademark countermeasures against misappropriation: 300,000 yen
(Allocation will be within the budget limits, and the amount of the subsidy may be reduced.)

Projects eligible for grants
- (1)Small and medium-sized enterprises (companies or individuals) headquartered in Osaka Prefecture
- (2)Having the willingness to strategically utilize intellectual property, including from foreign countries, to improve business operations.
- (3)Small and medium-sized enterprises (companies or individuals) whose applicant name is the same for the application filed with the foreign patent office receiving this subsidy and the domestic application that forms the basis of the application to the foreign patent office.
- (4)Regarding the submission of documents to the Osaka Industrial Promotion Organization (hereinafter referred to as "the Foundation") by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs, etc.), as separately stipulated by the Foundation, the following types of SMEs (companies or individuals) are eligible: SMEs (companies or individuals) who can obtain the cooperation of a domestic patent attorney, etc., who will handle the application process with a foreign patent office, or SMEs (companies or individuals) who can submit equivalent documents when they directly commission a local agent to handle the same process themselves.
- (5)Small and medium-sized enterprises (companies or individuals) who cooperate with the five-year follow-up survey (follow-up survey, interviews, etc.) conducted by the government and our foundation after the completion of subsidized projects.
