The Governor of Osaka Prefecture certifies products from small and medium-sized manufacturing companies within the prefecture that are backed by superior technology and creativity as "Osaka-made Brand Products." This aims to enhance the brand image of Osaka's manufacturing and promote the development of original products by manufacturing companies within the prefecture. Certified products will be promoted both domestically and internationally through promotional activities conducted by Osaka Prefecture, the Osaka Industrial Promotion Organization, and various other support organizations.

  • Use of the Osaka-made brand logo on certified products
  • Promotional support through exhibitions and sales at department stores and commercial facilities.
  • Information dissemination by Osaka Prefecture and other organizations through press releases, website postings, social media, brochures, etc.
  • Recommendations for Osaka Prefecture-related policies, etc. (e.g., introduction in public relations magazines, product introductions at events and exhibitions)

Target Products

  • It must be a consumer good (a final product sold to general consumers). (Excluding food products)
  • The product must be designed and manufactured by the applicant, and its main manufacturing base must be located in Osaka Prefecture.
  • The product must be sold under the applicant's own company name.
  • The product must be available for sale at the time of application.
  • It does not infringe on any other patents, designs, etc. Furthermore, it is not currently in litigation.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be small or medium-sized enterprises (including sole proprietors) with their headquarters and manufacturing base located within Osaka Prefecture.
  • There are no outstanding payments of prefectural taxes.
  • There are no outstanding payments of consumption tax and local consumption tax.
  • Applicants must be able to actively participate in and cooperate with promotional activities and initiatives related to the Osaka-made brand project conducted by Osaka Prefecture, the Osaka Industrial Bureau, and other relevant organizations.

Tanemura Joinery Woodworking Co., Ltd. currently has four products certified as "Made in Osaka" brands. The "Irodori Shoji®" screens, which received their first certification in 2013, are the company's first original product. The idea was conceived by Sadako Tanemura, who decided to take action herself amidst the decline in orders that had been steadily decreasing since the bubble economy.

Higuchi Knitwear Industry is a sock manufacturing factory founded in 1933. Yuko Nakae was born as the third daughter of the company's founder and will become the seventh president, following in the footsteps of her grandfather. In an era when "socks should be cheap" was the norm, the company mostly manufactured as a subcontractor for large corporations, but even with the factory running at full capacity, it was difficult to make a profit.

Our in-house products, embodying the culmination of masterful craftsmanship, propel us from a small town factory to a new stage.

Since its founding in 1972, Takebayashi Seisakusho has been a leading domestic manufacturer of toothbrush molds. Its technical prowess is evidenced by the fact that three of its craftsmen have been recognized as "Naniwa Master Craftsmen" by the Governor of Osaka Prefecture. In 2008, it received the "Takumi" (master craftsman) award for outstanding manufacturing companies.
