We accept 3D CAD data using the latest versions of our software, "SheetWorks" and "SolidWorks." We can produce high-quality prototypes using state-of-the-art equipment.

We will also explore methods such as using laminated, simplified molds to complete prototype production without the need for extra molds or jigs.

We handle many transactions with distant locations. We create advantages through quick arrangements.

Distance is irrelevant to procuring prototypes.

At Ushio, about half of our customers are from outside the Kansai region. There are various reasons for doing business with customers from afar, such as a decrease in local businesses, the need for a second opinion, and the need for a backup business when we are overwhelmed.

Leveraging the absolute advantage of being a processing hub, Ushio is accelerating its development speed. Furthermore, we respond to the needs of customers located far away with innovative manufacturing ideas unlike anything seen before.

We produce high-quality prototypes with short lead times using our extensive equipment.

Job Description: Manufacturing small quantities of diverse prototypes, primarily made from sheet metal.

As a specialist prototype manufacturer, we primarily produce sheet metal parts. By incorporating various simplified manufacturing techniques, such as deep drawing using laminated simple molds, we keep costs down and produce prototypes quickly. In addition to secondary processing such as painting, plating, and welding, we can also handle small-batch, high-mix processing of parts in other genres, including machined parts and resins, not just sheet metal. Furthermore, we were an early adopter of 3D CAD and possess skilled technicians proficient in CAD, as well as accumulated know-how in operation and data compatibility. Although we are a relatively young company, we built our own website early on and have steadily increased our customer base. To date, we have done business with over 500 companies nationwide, both large and small.

Strengths: Our specialized prototyping network enables us to produce a wide variety of prototypes with short lead times.

President Mitsushio Kou says, "Most of the requests we receive are for speed. All of our employees understand the importance of deadlines for prototypes and work with a strong sense of responsibility." In addition to their own internal network, they have a specialized network of prototype manufacturers with other companies in the neighborhood and can collaborate with partner companies in various fields that can handle small quantities and short deadlines, allowing them to quickly handle prototype projects that require secondary processing such as cutting and welding. They can handle not only iron and stainless steel, but also aluminum and copper. By having a wide variety of materials available, they can meet the needs of their customers.

Short delivery times: We achieve short delivery times through various measures to improve operational efficiency.

Due to the tight deadlines, we are thoroughly optimizing our operations. We have more equipment than our production staff, eliminating machine waiting times and allowing us to handle multiple projects simultaneously. We aim for everyone to be a multi-skilled worker capable of all processing tasks, and even when we receive urgent orders, everyone shares the work and processes. We also share order email data. Drawings are saved as electronic files along with any notes and annotations to reduce the time spent searching for drawings and data when ordering repeat or similar items. Customers in the Tohoku region have commented, "We thought it would be difficult to meet deadlines and schedule meetings due to the distance, but we were surprised that the necessary meetings were conducted by phone and the delivery time was faster than that of local suppliers."

Future Outlook: Expansion into growth industry sectors such as medical devices and energy.

While the company has primarily focused on industrial products for electronics manufacturers and other companies, President Mitsushio states, "Where there is development, there is work for us," and aims to expand into the growing industries of medical equipment and energy. To this end, they are working to cultivate new customers by disseminating information through participation in trade shows, which they hold about three times a year, and by improving their website, which they aim to make "a page that resonates with customers." In addition, they plan to introduce CAD/CAM for machining centers and hire operators by May 2014 to enable more complex machining and to speed up the process.

Our company history

In 1990, my father, the previous president, started the business as a sole proprietorship. From the beginning, we introduced laser processing machines and CAD/CAM to quickly respond to small-batch, high-mix production, and developed our business as a specialist in prototyping. We have actively maintained various machines, introducing 3D CAD in 2001, a second laser processing machine in 2005, a deburring machine in 2009, the latest turret punch press and image measuring instrument in 2011, and a machining center in 2012.

We guarantee the best solutions through our specialized prototyping network!
