"Open factories" offer tours of manufacturing sites at companies and opportunities to experience manufacturing firsthand.
These events have evolved from being organized by individual companies to being collaborative efforts by companies within a region to showcase the unique attractions of each area, and they are now held in various locations throughout Osaka Prefecture.

Event Overview Because Ibaraki City has many companies other than manufacturing companies, we are implementing this as an open "company" program that includes companies from a wide range of industries.
We named the event "Ibaraki, Kurukuru." (Ibaraki, Spinning Around) with the hope that participants will visit various companies and encounter new insights and discoveries.
The event will be held over three days in fiscal year 2026. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Osaka Shoe and Leather Festival O-ROUND

Event Overview Now in its fourth year since its launch in 2023, the project aims to raise awareness and revitalize Osaka's shoe and leather industry, which has a long and continuous history, primarily in Naniwa and Nishinari wards. It includes (1) the Osaka Leather Festival and (2) Open Factory Week. A distinctive feature is the exchange with open factories along the Nankai Railway line, such as Senshu, Kawachinagano, and Sakai.

Event Overview We are holding an event called "Open Factory: Let's Go to the Factory!" where we open up factories that are normally off-limits to the public, allowing people to experience firsthand "Higashi-Osaka, the city of manufacturing."
This event, which began in 2018, is organized by a committee of manufacturing companies in Higashi-Osaka City and others, with the aim of allowing people to experience the manufacturing site firsthand through factory tours, workshops, markets, and entertainment, creating a place for interaction and exchange.

Settsu Kids Factory

Event Overview Settsu City is an "industrial town" with approximately 4,000 businesses concentrated there. It is also a "manufacturing town" with a high proportion of manufacturing industries, and is home to companies with excellent technology, exemplified by the "SME Support Project! Settsu Brand 'Settsu Excellent Products' and 'Settsu Excellent Technology'."
Started in fiscal year 2024, this event includes not only factory tours but also workshops, a market, entertainment, and more, making it an event that the entire community can enjoy.

Senshu Open Factory

Event Overview This is an experiential event held in the Senshu region of Osaka, an area known for its thriving textile industry, including Senshu towels, and agriculture, such as Senshu eggplants and onions.
Through encounters with local small and medium-sized enterprises, their advanced technological capabilities, attractive products and services, and the people who work there, we aim to deliver new discoveries such as, "I didn't know such a company existed in our area!"
Based on the theme of "Kouba" (meaning "community hub"), where people, things, and events intersect, the festival offers factory tours, workshops, harvest experiences, and town walks. Businesses and shops, adults and children alike, come together to fully enjoy the charm of Senshu in a festive atmosphere at the "Kouba Festival."

Event Overview Osaka was once known as the "Manchester of the East," and the city developed around the textile industry. Furthermore, with one of Japan's leading modern ports, heavy industry also flourished, and it became renowned nationwide as a "city of manufacturing." Among its many areas, Taisho Ward, Minato Ward, and Nishiyodogawa Ward still retain much of that technological prowess and tradition.
At the Taisho, Minato, and Nishiyodogawa Open Factory, you can tour manufacturing plants that are usually off-limits to the public, with explanations provided by the people who work there! After seeing skilled techniques up close, there are also courses that will take you to attractive spots in the ward, so you can enjoy it as a walking tour of the town!

Daito Open Factory CONTACT

Event Overview "We found it! A piece of the future of eco-friendliness" is the theme for the 2026 Daito Open Factory CONTACT. Each employee will take center stage, giving factory tours and conducting workshops. This year, the factory tours will also include a small presentation on each company's eco-friendly initiatives. In addition, there will be a market, music, entertainment, and a shuttle bus that will tour the Daito city area. This event will allow you to directly experience the charm of Daito city's manufacturing and industry, where manufacturing is thriving.

Event Overview The concept is "Let's enjoy the 'impossible'!" This open factory was born from a collaboration between manufacturing companies, academia, and government. Manufacturing companies from northern Osaka, mainly from Hirakata City and Neyagawa City, will gather in one place. Rather than striving for perfection, the aim is for participants to first get their hands dirty and experience manufacturing, enjoying the charm of the companies and their technological capabilities. Through this initiative, we aim to create a co-creation space as a third place and to nurture the talent that will lead manufacturing in the future.

Visitors can choose from a variety of ways to enjoy the event, including bus tours, workshops, and free tours.
