Providing high-quality products with short lead times, primarily through rubber and plastic processing.

Job Description: Handle a wide range of processing tasks and accurately understand customer needs.

Akitsu Kogyo handles a wide range of processes, from cutting and punching flexible materials such as rubber and sponge used as industrial parts, to complex shaping of engineering plastics and non-asbestos sheets. In particular, they excel at cutting "difficult-to-cut materials," proudly stating that they can cut almost anything except metal and wood.
Because most of the products they handle are made to order, they can easily accommodate small-lot orders and respond quickly to short delivery times. Having originally started as a sales company, they have a strong grasp of customer needs and strictly adhere to delivery deadlines, which is a major characteristic of their business.

Strengths: Thorough quality control throughout the entire company

Their technical expertise shines through in their ability to achieve high precision even with flexible materials such as rubber and sponge. Their machining process, which involves cutting from block-shaped materials, is well-received by customers not only for its precision but also for the aesthetically pleasing results. The company aims to create even higher-quality products to satisfy its customers, and they focus on offering solutions that go beyond their technical capabilities, tailored to each client's needs.
Furthermore, quality control is thorough, with not only manufacturing staff but also administrative assistants taking the "Quality Control (QC) Certification" established by the Japan Society for Quality Control. More than 130 people have passed the exam, and the entire company is working together towards its ultimate goal of achieving a good product rate of 100%.

Human resource utilization: Creating an environment and providing attentive care for people-centered business activities.

The company refers to its employees as "the best teammates" and strives to conduct business activities with a focus on people. President Mitsuharu Kusumoto emphasizes, "Creating excellent products, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality—all of these things are only possible because of the power of people."
In addition to improving the work environment to encourage meticulous work that enhances quality, the company is also focusing on safety and hygiene and working towards obtaining ISO 45001 certification. Furthermore, attention is paid to every detail, such as aiming for growth that is appropriate to the individual needs of employees to prevent overwork. These are not extraordinary things, but the company believes that all of these are directly related to the effective use of its "human resources," which in turn leads to the company's credibility and profits.

Future prospects: Further growth through a win-win-win approach.

Currently, rubber accounts for a large proportion of the materials the company handles, but given the size of the market, they plan to expand into plastic materials. While there are technical areas they would like to pursue, their priority is to responsibly complete the work they have been given. They will not be satisfied with the status quo and intend to pursue even higher precision and shorter manufacturing times.
Furthermore, in order to be recognized as the company with the shortest delivery times in Japan, we will focus on improving the quality of our services rather than expanding our scale. To achieve this, expanding our production management system is essential, and we are also considering proactive capital investment. On top of that, we will continue to pursue a growth strategy that ensures the happiness of all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, and employees).

Our company history

Founded in 1978, we started as a trading company handling asbestos joint products. Since then, we have expanded into in-house processing, and now we handle everything from cutting rubber products to engineering plastics. Moving forward, we will continue to meet our customers' needs by providing small-lot orders, short delivery times, and high-quality products.
