Business content

SGK Co., Ltd. has introduced a large-scale automated line that was previously considered impossible with photoetching technology, enabling mass production of long, micro-products without burrs, sharp edges, or distortion. Furthermore, by combining it with diffusion bonding, they offer cutting-edge technologies to the metal industry, such as micro-machining of thick materials and extremely thin edges with half-etching.

Product and Technology Introduction

Creating the future and unknown possibilities of photoetching.

Building on our experience with large speakers and taking on new challenges!

Building on our experience with large speakers and taking on new challenges!
The intricate hole processing and press-formed shapes, along with the diverse color schemes, are both delicate and bold.

Ultra-fine slits for small speakers and encoders
To process a large number of small holes.
That is one of the advantages of etching.
Designs and functions that were previously impossible can now be realized at a low cost.

Etching + Diffusion Bonding

By layering multiple photoetched metal plates and diffusion bonding them, we can manufacture high-aspect-ratio products and products with complex cross-sectional shapes. This significantly expands the range of etching processes, enabling the creation of fine-grained and complex shapes in thick materials that do not peel off even when bent or drawn. By layering elliptical holes, rectangular holes, etc., created by photoetching to the required thickness, it is also possible to form deep holes and tapered holes that are difficult to create with machining.

Half etching + through etching

By skillfully combining half-etching (a process of engraving to a desired depth on only one side) and regular etching to create shapes, greater design flexibility is possible.
For example, it can be used to create countersunk holes for screw fastening, make the end faces extremely thin, and also offers excellent aesthetic appeal.

Low-reflection black treatment IS-B

This new technology is only possible because SGK has been producing optical components such as light-shielding plates used inside lenses for many years, a feat that could not be achieved with metal painting alone!

The special surface treatment suppresses light reflection to about 1%. Low reflectivity is maintained even in the near-infrared region, where reflectivity is usually high with conventional matte finishes.
Furthermore, it cuts out ghosting and flare! To meet the dimensional precision requirements of the lens unit, the metal itself is colored black. Optical properties are enhanced by combining a uniquely developed matte finish with an oxidation coloring method.
● Superiority of plate thickness accuracy
No change in material thickness due to matte finish. Achieves high-precision variations in plate thickness such as 0.03mm/0.04mm/0.05mm/0.06mm...
●Material: Stainless steel
It achieves strength, durability, and heat resistance that cannot be achieved with resin products.
●Excellent compatibility with etching processes
Because it is a surface treatment that does not cause dimensional changes, it does not impair the high precision of etching.
