WinActor, a domestically produced RPA that accelerates DX in manufacturing sites.

Automate cumbersome administrative and management tasks, freeing up resources for "true manufacturing"—

Japanese manufacturing is facing a serious labor shortage and an increasingly complex supply chain. While "high-quality manufacturing" is demanded of the factory floor, the enormous amount of desk work, such as daily production planning, inventory checks, and order processing, is eating away at employees' valuable time.
The solution to this problem is the domestically produced RPA "WinActor".

WinActor is a "digital administrative staff" that works accurately without complaining.

By entrusting the burden of tedious daily routines to this powerful digital tool, employees can concentrate their resources on "their core tasks that create added value that only humans can do," such as process improvement, quality enhancement, and new product development.
Even without specialized IT knowledge, WinActor can be developed through on-the-ground training, which is a unique strength of this domestically produced tool. WinActor brings back "free time" and "smiles" to workplaces overwhelmed with daily tasks.

A group of die-cutting specialists who create materials, equipment, and even construction methods.

Job description: To make things safer and easier to use.

Daiso was founded in 1971 by Chairman Otsuka Koji, who worked in the paper and cardboard processing industry and was a die-cutting craftsman. His initial motivation was to "create die-cutting molds that anyone could use safely and easily," and he established the company as "Otsuka Wooden Die-Cutting Works" in 1971, when die-cutting molds first began to become available to the public.
In the paper processing industry, die-cutting dies offer the advantage of enabling mass production of paper products and shortening delivery times. Because the dies themselves are easy to store, they are widely used in the paper product processing sector. The company receives 2,000 to 4,000 orders per month and has grown to serve over 2,000 clients.

Strengths: Total coordinator for punching holes

In the paper packaging industry, many companies offer single products such as die-cutting dies and materials, but this company provides total coordination for die-cutting, including related materials, to meet the individual needs of each customer. They thoroughly understand the characteristics of the die-cutting machines currently used by their customers and finish the die-cutting dies in a way that is easy for the operators to use.
The company also boasts a strong sales strategy that makes full use of IT. Founder and Chairman Otsuka has been employing an IT-driven sales strategy since the internet began to become widespread, stating, "From now on, it's all about the air." Currently, orders through their website are steadily increasing both domestically and internationally.

Human Resource Development: Passing on the Tradition of "Craftsmanship with Soul"

To be known as "Daiso, the company of technology," the company has been holding an in-house technical competition, "D-1," since 2012, with the aim of improving quality and promoting the spread of technology. Participants create die-cutting molds according to a given theme, and the winner is determined by the quality of the finished product. The competition embodies the desire of President Masakazu Otsuka to "pursue manufacturing with soul," and he dreams of expanding it to other companies outside the company one day, saying, "I would like to do this with other companies in the same industry someday."
With four key concepts—"deepening, evolution, true value, and new value" (S-4)—the company is also focusing on developing young talent. The aim is for the founder himself to convey his vision, deepen understanding of and love for the business, and inspire the challenging spirit of young people. To serve customers nationwide, the company constantly strives for "overall optimization" so that products of the same quality can be produced at any factory.

Future prospects: Expanding overseas using the exhibition as a springboard.

Given the shrinking domestic demand due to the declining population, we will actively pursue overseas expansion in Asia, Europe, and other regions. Currently, we have partnerships with 23 distributors in 21 countries, and going forward, we will actively market not only our current core products, which are peripheral materials, but also the die-cutting dies themselves.
In 2016, the company took on its first overseas trade show. "We're feeling a real sense of accomplishment," says President Otsuka, expressing his optimism for future growth through global expansion. In fact, inquiries from Eastern Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Africa have been increasing. The company aims for further development by making full use of its strengths in IT tools.

Our company history

Chairman Joji Otsuka founded the company in 1971 after working in the packaging industry. The company name "Daiso" comes from the phrase "great creation." The management philosophy is "Humanistic management. Realizing a dream company." To be of service to our customers, we aim for "Great Creation of Human Resources Like a Cloud Dragon" and "Further Development of Original Technology and a Management Culture that Advances as a One-of-a-Kind."
